Tony’s interest in Equalize Health stems from his experience traveling in developing countries, his passion for improving impact with market supported interventions and his experience in applying best for-profit practices to social impact organizations.
Having spent 20 plus years in various financial and strategic roles in the corporate sector—with Ernst & Young, Levi Strauss, and Oracle—he transitioned to the nonprofit world to serve as CFO of Samasource Inc. from 2014 to 2018 where he helped the organization grow its impact and revenues four-fold. Samasource is a social enterprise providing sustainable poverty alleviation by channelling digital work from Fortune 500 companies to disadvantaged youth in rural Uganda and urban Kenya. He brings a wealth of operational and financial knowledge to Equalize Health from his corporate experience as well as first-hand experience leveraging market based approaches for positive social change from his prior role at Samasource and current nonprofit advisory work.
Tony holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University in Canada, and is a Chartered Public Accountant. Originally from Winnipeg, Canada, he now resides in San Francisco with his wife and two children.
