ECHO Tele-mentoring

Democratizing expert medical knowledge.

Learn more

Too many newborns are still referred to distant facilities when they could be treated locally, contributing to unnecessary morbidity or mortality. We use the Project ECHO tele-mentoring framework to ensure health workers increase their knowledge and confidence to treat newborns closer to home.

How ECHO equalizes health outcomes?
  • Transparent. We democratize expert medical knowledge to neonatologists and paediatricians practicing in local communities, improving their knowledge, attitude, and practice.

  • Accessible. Our virtual trainings are easy to access and available to everyone in even the most isolated areas.

  • Responsive. We create new programs in response to what clinicians and partners need, providing the most up-to-date specialty care information and technical support.

  • Effective. Clinicians become equipped to deliver specialized care to newborns in their local facilities who they otherwise would have referred out.

  • Supportive. We foster a strong community of healthcare professionals working in low-resource areas.

  • Impactful. Using case-based learning and an “all teach all learn” model, both frontline practitioners and expert mentors are enriched.
